There were around 40,000 applicants who showed interest on adopting Lana but the animal shelter were careful in picking the dog’s next owner. Apart from the thousand of pet owners who wanted to adopt Lana, the shelter also collected about $15,000 in donations, reportedly.

Just looking at those figures, you might think that Lana should finally find a forever home. However, as it turned out, those families interested to get her were looking for pets that they can play with. And Lana is not that type.

The Labrador is more of a training dog. A pet who loves doing work for her master. She is not into much cuddles and petting. Having said that, the shelter found it difficult to find her a new home.

But what’s more sad is, just around May 2017, Lana was included in the list of dogs to be put down. The shelter released an announcement that if the Labrador wouldn’t be able to find a family before May 20, she would likely be put to sleep forever.

Luckily though, a family came marching to love and care for the saddest dog in the world. She wasn’t just saved from a possible death. But also had a chance to live with a kind and beautiful family… forever.

Did you like how Lana’s story ended? How sweet it is to meet victory after a long troubling journey, right? I really hope all dogs at the shelter would someday find people who’ll take them and care for them like family.
