Your mouth is said to be the door to your health. Would you believe? Well, most women regularly wear lipstick that covers the natural color of the lips. Little we know that the natural color of our lips could actually tell us whether we have a health problem that needs attention.
Many women struggle with pale lips so lipstick in shades of red become their best friend. However, pale lips could indicate anemia, a health problem caused by low iron in the blood. Don’t worry though if you are diagnosed with anemia because simply increasing intake of iron-rich foods could help you get rid of it.
But if you have pale lips with cold hands and feet at the same time even if the temperature is not cold, this might be related to your stomach. It’s possible that your stomach is too cold so it manifests on your lips, hands and feet. What you can do is eat or drink something warm like tea.
Meanwhile, if you have unusually red lips opposite to being pale, it could indicate bad breath, overheated body, and an overworking liver and spleen. To combat these, just eat foods like celery, bitter melon and honey, sleep early and remember not to stress out.
Purple or greenish lips, on the other hand, is common during cold seasons but if it persists, it signals cardiovascular and respiratory problems. The best approach in this situation is to seek medical advice.
Moreover, when you constantly have dark to black lips, you may want to give attention to what you eat as it could be a problem with your digestion. Limit ingestion of processed foods and add more easy to digest meals.
Lastly, the dark or purple line around your lips could indicate health imbalances too. A good remedy is rest well and eat healthy food.
