The feeling of losing your kids in a tragic accident is unimaginable. There’d be no words to express the devastation, loneliness, and pain. This is what Daisy, the dog who lost her seven pups in a fire, had been through. For this momma, heartbreaking is an understatement in describing the incident as she almost ditched living after what happened.
Jessica Woodruff’s (Daisy’s owner) barn accidentally caught fire with the dog’s seven puppies inside. The flame was too huge for the Woodruff family to stop, unfortunately.
As per the owner, they quickly ran to the location of barn to save the poor puppies. However, since the fire was big, it was dangerous for them to risk their lives for the baby dogs.
This broke Daisy’s heart. Imagine how it felt for her as she watched the barn succumb to flames with her puppies inside. Really, it must be so tormenting for a mother.
In fact, Jessica said that they had to hold the dog tightly to prevent her from running to the barn. At that moment, Daisy would do anything to save her babies even if it causes her life.
But the barn fire has already taken seven puppy lives. If I were in Jessica’s place, I would do the same and wouldn’t let another life go to waste. I would hug Daisy firmly to comfort her and prevent her from running into a blazing fire.
After the sad incident, Jessica noticed some changes in Daisy’s behavior. As I mentioned above, she almost ditched living. By that I mean she nearly gave up in life by not eating and succumbing to loneliness. She was too depressed that she forgot about herself already.
Everyday, Daisy refused to eat and walked to the barn. There, she spent her time whining and just sitting at one side, seemingly reminiscing the memories of her puppies.
We all understand how painful it is for a mom to lose her babies. And Daisy lost seven! Imagine her agony.
But this grieving phase wasn’t healthy for her and it appears she can’t handle it well. Jessica realized that. So the lady thought of a bright idea on how she can help Daisy to get over her grief.
