A man was sentenced by a judge in Hawaii to write 144 compliments for his ex girlfriend. Is this how you want to deal with your ex partner? Is it something that we should even deal with in the first place?
There are relationships that last forever and there are those that need to end even if we don’t want to. It’s one of the bitter realities in life. And in many, if not all failed relationships, there’s the other half who finds it hard to find acceptance.
In our today’s story, you’ll get to know Daren Young, a man who received a jail sentence along with a task to write 144 compliments for his ex-partner. Let’s visit the full story below.
Young, similar to what I defined above, seems to be someone who found it hard to move on from a failed relationship. As per a Maui News report, he violated a court order that bans him from contacting his ex-girlfriend. The said order was placed on Feb. 22, which the woman sought for as a protection from her ex-boyfriend.
But even after receiving the court order, the 30-year-old man still tried to reach his former partner by sending “nasty” text messages. He even tried calling the latter, allegedly. He did it for 144 times and sent those messages in a three-hour period!
For these reasons, Young was put to trial once again wherein he pleaded no contest to the accusation. The report says it was actually 16 counts of violation. Oh, no.
Now, the guy received a peculiar sentence from 2nd Circuit Judge Rhonda Loo, asking him to come up with 144 compliments for his ex-girlfriend to compensate for the many “nasty” things he sent to the girl. And to make things harder, he should write them with no repetition of words or compliments.
Apart from the unusual task, Young also spent 157 days in jail. Following his experience inside the prison cell, he realized the gravity of what he has done and asked for forgiveness. He said, “I’m not going to do it again.” “I’m ready to move forward with my life, help my mom, who had a stroke,” the man continued.
