A man from Australia accidentally kidnapped his neighbor’s healthy cat and gave it antidepressants as per a vet’s prescription. The real owner then came walking in after almost a week to look for its lost kitty. Ironically, the guy said he has seen no cat other than his pet. What he didn’t know was he was drugging the neighbor’s cat all along.
This story surfaced online following a tweet from a New Zealand TV presenter, Clarke Gayford. The host took to Twitter to share that his mate spent $130 on his pet without realizing that it wasn’t his own pet.
In his first tweet he said: “a mate spent $130 at vet on his cat then had to lock it in his bedroom for 5 days recovery, and JUST NOW HIS ACTUAL CAT WALKED IN 😂.”
So what happened really was Gayford’s friend mistakenly kidnapped the neighbor’s pet as their cats are both black. As you know, it’s quite hard to distinguish the difference in black felines. The guy’s mistake, I guess, is understandable.
However, what made this story more interesting is the fact that the man took the mistakened pet for a vet check as it was seemingly acting strange. And so, the animal doctor gave it Clomicalm, an antidepressant drug.
Concerned about his cat’s health, Gayford’s mate did as the vet advised. And to help with the kitty’s recovery, the guy even kept him inside his room for five days.
But then after almost a week of taking care of the wrong pet, the man’s real cat came walking in! Where have you been little fella?
Now, Gayford’s pal realized that he had been drugging a healthy cat in the past days. And what’s more is, he even told the neighbor he has not seen the latter’s cat when actually accidentally kidnapped it!
In one of Gayford’s tweets, he said: “He just told me a neighbour had come looking for her missing black cat and he said ‘Na, sorry just my cat in here!’ I actually snort laughed.” That made me laugh too, to be honest.
