Vacations are so much fun especially if you are booked in a luxury hotel where you can do everything you want without having to clean after! However, what if you find out that your go-to hotels do not change sheets regularly?
Or, they don’t clean the linens thoroughly? Yikes!
When it comes to staying at hotels, you surely expect that you will be resting on a comfy bed with fresh and clean sheets. Not to mention, there are hotels that offer spotless white linens and oh, I love sleeping on them!
But just because something looks so clean from the outside, doesn’t mean it is really sanitary and hygienic. If you are currently relaxing in your neat and smooth hotel bed while reading this, I hate to burst your bubble. That linen may not be washed thoroughly or, it wasn’t changed it all! No pun intended.
There’s no way you could be sure whether or not your hotel bed’s linen is washed. They appear so tidy and white. Who would ever doubt that?
However, a team from Inside Edition thought of a brilliant idea on how to identify if a hotel bed sheet is regularly changed and cleaned. If this interests you, then prepare for some gross revelations below.
How to know if a hotel bed linen is clean for real
The simple test by Inside Edition only involves an ultraviolet light, an invisible paint, and a stencil. Here’s what they did.
First, they book a hotel room, sprayed the invisible paint on top of the stencil that says: “I SLEPT HERE.” Then, they leave the room with the bed unmade. Lastly, they book the same room again under a different name and checked the bed line if the hotel replaced it.
The result? The markings “I SLEPT HERE” remains bright and bold under the ultraviolet light. Meaning, it is the same bed sheet the guests used the other day. Oh, no!
Of course, the team behind Inside Edition had to let the hotel management know about this. And fortunately, they advised doing something about it. Let’s just all be hopeful that they’ll keep their word and impose a stricter measure when it comes to proper hygiene and sanitation of hotel rooms.
