We know felines have soft bones, which allow them to squeeze their bodies in hollow containers and tiny holes. But when things go wrong, their amazing ability to flex their bones could cause them harm too. Like what happened to this stray cat whose head was stuck under a metal gate. Thanks to the firefighter rescue, the kitty managed to stay alive.
In one of our previous posts, we’ve shared a video of kittens walking out of an empty canister. This just proves further that cats are playful little fellas who can sneak into wherever they find amusing. Little they know that their frisky personality could lead them to a grave danger.
Just recently, I stumbled upon this firefighter rescue that sure caught my interest. When I hear, read, or watch about firefighters, I think about fire rescue operations, of course.
But this story is something unique. The firefighters need not save somebody from a huge fire. They, instead, held a rescue operation to help a stray cat trapped under a metal garage gate. Ouch!
The incident happened on Baltimore Avenue in Chicago. The firefighters saw a kitty who was in need of serious help as it tried to free himself from a heavy door. His head was positioned at the other side of the gate so the animal had no idea what was going on behind him.
Just looking at what the feline has gotten himself to gave me goosebumps. I actually feared the cat won’t make it. Watch the video on the next page and you’ll understand why.
But there’s a reason why people say cats have nine lives! They undeniably have strong reflexes. They can get through many catastrophes safe and alive, can’t they?
If watching the video made you feel uncomfortable about the cat’s safety too, imagine the shock of the firefighters when they saw him under the huge door. But as people who commonly witness intense incidents, they knew just what’s the best thing to do.
