A Chinese man is in hot water after pretending to be a licensed vet who cuts the vocal cord of dogs to prevent them from barking. The horrifying activity was recently exposed through the help of an undercover mission. Check the full report below.

According to a Chengdu Business Daily report, the vet, identified as Zeng, began setting up a stall at the market of Qingbaijiang district in Chengdu since September. Everyday, he brings his surgical equipments and places them on a folding table as he waits for customers who need to devocalize their pets. Located just at the side of the road, his booth is very accessible to bypassers and potential clients.

Having said that, it didn’t take long before the quack doctor gained popularity among pet owners who are troubled with their dog’s yapping. Quickly, the queue of customers waiting for their dog’s turn has grown. Apparently, a lot of pet owners in the district prefer to have the vocal cord of their pups removed because of the animal’s continued barking, causing neighbors getting angry at the owners.

Soon enough, the Chengdu Business Daily plotted an undercover mission to further investigate the vet’s procedures. The undercover reporter saw firsthand how Zeng’s business works and I need to say, it’s horrible.

First and foremost, the vet told the reporter that he doesn’t even have a license! When asked if he holds a license to operate on the canines, he responded with a question, asking why is there a need for one. As per the unlicensed animal doctor, it’s not necessary as nobody’s checking.

Second, surgical procedures like the devocalization of animals should be done in a sterile room. Plus, the surgical and medical tools should be sterile too. With Zeng operating in a public area, on top of a folding table, with his equipments exposed, we can say the procedures are done in a non-sterile manner.
