Road accidents are one of the most common hazards today. From drunk driving, speeding, reckless driving, and faulty and defective cars, all of these are major reasons behind road crashes. And no one is spared from the dangers, including dogs.
A news broke just recently about a road accident wherein a truck had hit a private property in San Francisco, causing injuries to the owners. Fortunately, the damages were non-life threatening to the mother and daughter who were at home as the vehicle crashed into their residence.
The good news is the Fire Department of San Francisco were quick to respond. The mom and the kid were brought to the hospital and are expected to recover soon.
But what’s interesting is what they found inside the truck – dogs – a couple of them. The Fire Department assumed that the driver of the vehicle was a dog handler or walker as he was joined by nine dogs in his trip.
Unfortunately, three of the dogs ran away as the truck hit the the private property. It took the officers some time to locate all of them but everything went well. All the lost canines were found and were returned safe to their respective owners.
Reading the news made me realize that we know a lot about how to drive safe already but how about driving safe with your pets? Some of us would love to bring our pets along with us during a nice road trip. And we can’t help but enjoy the company of our dogs while on the road, right? Which is why before we embark on a nice road trip with our furbabies, let’s look at some pointers on how to travel safely with them.
First and foremost, you have to check with your vet to inform him/her that you are going to travel with your dog. All vaccinations should be given to prevent your dog from acquiring any disease especially if you are going to different places.
