If you have become so close with a fur baby, you know how much it hurts when you wake up one morning without him or her. When you treat a pet as part of the family, you’ll understand how devastating it is to lose him or her one day. And this feeling is what has haunted a Florida man for weeks after his blind and deaf cat went missing.
Early in February of this year, Raymond McNamara lost his 20-year-old blind and deaf cat named Lily. Knowing that his pet might not survive the outside world given her difficulties, the man did his best to locate the feline for more than three weeks.
As part of his efforts to find Lily, McNamara posted and distributed fliers everywhere possible. However, the first week made no progress. He was not able to see the kitty.
But he continued searching until reality slapped his face. Lily is gone. Being a blind and deaf cat, she might not have survived without her owner.
It was a sad sad truth that McNamara had to swallow. It wasn’t easy to accept too. The man confessed that during the last weeks of his search for Lily, he became depressed and exhausted. So he stopped eating and even lost some weight.
He, too, spent much money in looking for the cat. But he then realized a little later that life has to move on. He had to accept that he’ll no longer see Lily and move on.
That said, McNamara traveled to California to start looking for work. But when his mother from Florida called him one day, he was too excited to go back to the state. Someone found a blind and deaf cat that matches Lily’s description! Could it be her?
McNamara, of course, drove all the way from California to Florida upon hearing the good news. He admitted he was in tears of joy while driving his car. He must have been excited as well!
